Gather your supplies. (I used a shea butter soap base - it's as easy as melting and pouring)

Use a natural base or make from scratch (this is great for people with sensitivities because it is all natural. Commercial soaps are full of chemicals and toxins that absorb into your skin.)

Cut up your soap base into small cubes. Place in double boiler dish or microwave safe dish.

Melt your soap in your double boiler (placing dish over boiling water - don't let the dish actually touch the water).

Melting can also be done in the microwave. If you microwave it, be careful to not let the soap boil. I recommend mixing it every few seconds.

Once completely melted, add in your colorants. I used red clay (use 1 or 2 tsp per lb of soap) because it is all natural and has benefits such as drawing toxins like a magnet! Mix completely.

Add in your tea of choice! Add little by little until you are satisfied with the consistency and soap to tea ratio. You don't need much, I used about 2 tbsp.

I used David's Tea Coco Chai Rooibos. Rooibos tea has a concentration of alpha-hydroxyl acid and zinc, which are both important elements for healthy skin.

Add your essential oils or fragrances (optional). I used a cranberry scent. All soap supplies (minus the tea) were purchased online (a quick search will lead you to many great suppliers).

Pour mixture into your soap mold.

I had extra soap mixture so I poured it into a different mold. There will be no wasting here!

And now we wait...

My soap was finished in about 2 hours. This depends on the size of your mold. If it feels cool and solid, it's probably finished!

End result. Makes a great gift!

Experiment with different teas and colorants for some super cute soaps.
